Launch the Torch is a student-run project through the Exploring Emerging Technologies class (IFS 2097) at Florida State University. Students from various academic backgrounds are joining forces, and utilizing their knowledge and skills to create and launch a weather balloon. This weather balloon will capture 360 degree footage of its journey into space, with FSU torches attached to the side. This class is split up into five teams: mechanics, tracking, printing, social and video. Together these teams, under the direction of Dr. Paul Marty, are working to take FSU where no Seminole has gone before: outer space.
